The Fédération de Paris already organises educational sessions with schools in Paris: “simulations of European Parliament planearies or construction of a citizens’ initiative” for high school classes.
In addition to that, they launched an educational programme on the “Ode to Joy”, musical and creative. Its goal is to embrace the values of peace and solidarity associated with the European anthem, intended for primary schools. This project has been awarded the Paris Europe label in 2018 and will be at the core of the R-EU CONNECTED project.
FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS
The first step, animated by a specialist of Europe and a musician, takes place in class and consists of a pedagogical presentation of the European construction as well as a discovery of the European anthem.
The second step, held by a specialist of Europe and a musician, takes place in class and consists of a pedagogical presentation of European values and symbols. The students start to write lyrics for the European anthem.
The third step is dedicated to the performance of the song realized by the students, the 9th of May, for the European day.
Before this performance, the students will have to collect their parent’s questions about Europe in order to use them during a Decoders event that will be organized the same day.
