France – FINAL DECODEURS’ EVENT

R-EU-Connected’s final event took place with the French partner, the Paris Federation of the Ligue de l’Enseignement, in the form of a “Decoders of Europe” event on March 11, 2021 at the René Cassin high school in Raincy (Île-de-France).

During this event, we had the opportunity to welcome several European experts who took the floor to raise awareness and answer students’ questions. There was notably the presence of the European Civic Forum with Alexandrina Namowich, the Representation of the European Commission in France with Francesca Manchi, and the European Parliament with MEP Mounir Satouri. During this event, the students of the René Cassin high school had the opportunity to present their work that the we had developed with them during the 3 sessions of the “European Citizen Initiative” learning path. The meeting began with a questions-answers session with Mr. Satouri. Then, the final year students presented their European citizens’ initiative on the subject of pollution while the European experts commented on their proposals. During the last session of the course, the students had the opportunity to write questions, assigned to the professionals present during the decoders event. These questions enabled a debate between the young participants and the experts, using a slido. An informal discussion was finally initiated, around a buffet shared between all the participants.
